Aston reveals two special editions 20 | 02 | 2014

ASTON MARTIN HAS revealed two new special editions — based on the DB9 and V8 Vantage — ahead of their first public appearance at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

The first, described as “GT4-inspired”, is the 430bhp V8 Vantage N430 (pictured), which is available as both a coupĂ© and roadster. Powered by its dry-sumped, 4.7-litre V8 engine, it's good for 0-60mph in 4.6secs, and a top speed of 190mph.

While a “close-ratio” automated manual, combined with a shorter final drive, is available as an option, it comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard.

With its 10-spoke alloys and carbonfibre trim, the car is 10kgs lighter than the standard car. Just for good measure, the interior boasts lightweight Kevlar seats, machined carbon sill plaques, black magnesium paddle shifters and carbonfibre facia trim.

The N430 — on sale in Scotland in September, priced from £89,995 — gets the unusual ‘Club Sport Graphics Pack’ exterior treatment which, according to Aston Martin, is a nod to the company's CC100 Speedster concept.

Oh, and if you fancy 'pumping up the volume', you might well be interested in the 1000W Bang & Olufsen audio system, which comes as an option.

The second AM special edition is the DB9 Carbon Black and Carbon White. These limited editions use their strong body colours to act as a contrast to their carbonfibre fittings and detailing.

Fitted with mighty impressive with 20in, 10-spoke forged alloys and a carbonfibre splitter, diffuser and mirror caps, the car is powered by the firm's 510bhp V12 engine.

As for prices Aston say you they are available "on application" from your local dealership. 'Nuff said!
