The 23-year-old from Forfar will join the Forte Racing team to drive the No78 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 (pictured) partnering fellow factory driver, Italian Loris Spinelli, and Canadians Misha Goikhberg and Devlin DeFrancesco.

The foursome will compete in the highly-competitive GT Daytona (GTD) class. The 24-hour race is the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

For Mitchell, personally-backed by Huntly-based Black Bull Scotch Whisky, it will be his second assault on the Daytona 24h having made his debut in 2022. It will also be his first time racing with Los Angeles-based Forte Racing. (Related: Mitchell impresses on Daytona debut)

“I’ve competed in this amazing race once before, and I’m thrilled to be back on the grid as the atmosphere and on-track action are equally impressive during race weekend.
