Adam steps up for Silverstone 21 | 05 | 2014

FIFER JONNY ADAM, the Aston Martin Racing factory driver, will return to duty in Europe's top GT championship for the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series 2014 at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit this weekend.

Despite entering very familiar territory — having competed in the same competition at the same track in the same model of car in 2013 — this outing will see the Scottish speedster line up on the grid in different colours after stepping in to join Aston Martin customer team Leonard Motorsport.

The one-off outing in the striking black-and-yellow liveried Leonard V12 Vantage GT3 will see Adam share driving duties with VLN Series regulars Paul Wilson and Stuart Leonard as they tackle the Pro Cup class.

"It's great to be racing in the Blancpain Endurance Series again and even more so to be doing so for Aston Martin's home event at Silverstone," current British GT champ Adam explained today.

"I have tested with both Paul and Stuart at the start of this season and was impressed by both their speed and consistency in the Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

"The aim for the weekend is to secure a solid result in the Pro Cup for Leonard Motorsport AMR and help the team show what they are capable of in a championship that has an incredibly strong grid.

"All the ingredients are there to make it a really challenging race and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in."

The entry list for the three hour race at the home of British motorsport features 45 GT cars and the event will start at 14:55 on Sunday, with live coverage courtesy of Motors TV as well as streaming via the official Blancpain Endurance Series website channel GT TV.
