Superb to remain Skoda flagship 02 | 01 | 2014
SKODA HAS CONFIRMED its next-generation Superb will remain the marque's flagship model. There had been rumours that the Superb would be replaced by a full-sized SUV.
Based on the VW Group’s MQB platform, the new Superb will share as much as 50% of its parts with the Volkswagen Passat.
Skoda design bosses have also confirmed the new Superb will again be offered as a saloon and an estate. But due to cost implications, the saloon will drop the dual saloon/hatchback tailgate boot opening.
The largest power unit in the Superb will come from a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine as Skoda bosses strive to reduce the car's weight and improve fuel-economy.
