McLaren eyeing £400k supercar 27 | 01 | 2014

McLAREN HAS CONFIRMED it plans to introduce a new £400,000 P15 supercar which will sit neatly between the current 12C and P1 (pictured).

Though understood to still be quite sometime away, the new car is expected to be powered by an updated version of the 616bhp 3.8-litre turbocharged V8 currently found in the MP4-12C.

Ahead of the P15, the company is currently focusing on its Porsche 911 Turbo rival. Codenamed P13, the car is expected to have a target price of around £120,000, and between 2000 to 2500 models will be built annually.

McLaren is planning a number of derivatives of the P13, including a cabriolet version, and a stripped-out, high-performance track version, similar in tone to the Porsche 911 GT3.
