Adam on eve of spawning 26 | 07 | 2012

VAUXHALL WILL EXPAND its model range of the three-door Adam if the initial car is a success (see more official photos of the new Vauxhall Adam). That would trigger a direct rival range to those which evolved from the original Mini, Fiat 500 and Citroen DS.

Those three cars have each spawned their own sub-brand, and Vauxhall bosses are keen to achieve the same with Adam.

"There are “clearly a few thoughts about the potential of the Adam," Vauxhall chairman Duncan Aldred said.

"But you have to be very careful that you do not push things too far. Each one has to be as good as the base car that it is derived from.

"If it is not, you eat away at the brand image of that vehicle and it ultimately becomes less attractive.”
