'Geniuses' land in Stirling 23 | 02 | 2015

    SCOTS BMW AND MINI dealership, Menzies, now have available to customers two "Product Geniuses" who are available to welcome customers to the Stirling showrooms and provide them with all the information required on the different options now available in each vehicle. 

    Their aim is to find out the needs of the customer and then match the various options to the customer needs.

    The Product Genius will answer the customer’s questions on different options and explain the benefits to having these fitted to the car. 

    Menzies Product Geniuses will also take the lead in handing over the customers' new car to them including explaining how to pair phones to the vehicle and use sat nav.  The Product Geniuses will be available during retail hours for customers who have questions about any of the technology in their car to call in and ask questions or arrange an appointment to have an in-depth session.

    The new BMW Product Genius is 31-year-old Richard Hurran (pictured left), from Larbert . This is his first role within the motor industry having previously worked within retail. 

    Richard recently returned to the area from Loughbourgh where he had been training as an athlete in pole vaulting and represented Scotland at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

    "I'm excited about sharing my product knowledge of the BMW range with the Menzies customers," Richard explained.  "2015 is an exciting year ahead for BMW with the launch of the new 1 series and new 7 series."

    Meanwhile, and Menzies Mini, Geoff Marr, from Bridge of Allan — who joined the company as a driver in October 2013 — has been promoted to the role of Mini Product Genius. 

    Geoff (pictured right) is a MINI enthusiast, having owned mow than 70 Minis so far. He currently has in the family two Mini Ones, Mini Countryman ALL4, an 11-year-old Mini Cooper S Supercharged that he has owned since new, and seven classic Minis ranging from 1963-1975 models, most of which are restoration projects.

    "Having owned so many Minis, I'm looking forward to sharing my passion for the product with customers and demonstrating the various options that are now available when you buy a new Mini, from safety options such as Active Cruise Control to the media pack that includes a 20gb hard drive that stores up to 40,000 songs in your car," he explained.

    Geoff is also Membership Secretary of Stirling and District Classic Car Club and a member of the Mini Cooper register.

    Menzies forms part of the Inverness-based Macrae & Dick group, with dealerships in Inverness, Elgin, Aberdeen, Perth and Stirling.

    The company also employs more tha 450 peopleand represents Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Toyota and Mazda plus, under the Menzies brand, BMW and Mini.
