Rapid identity for new Skoda hatch 24 | 04 | 2012

SKODA HAS CONFIRMED its new hatch, which will go on sale in Scotland before the end of 2012, is to be named Rapid.

Displayed earlier this year badged a MissionL at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and shown first at Frankfurt last September, the Rapid sits in the Skoda range between the Fabia and the Octavia.

"As part of its growth strategy, Skoda has initiated the largest model offensive in its corporate history and will bring a new vehicle to market every six months on average in the years ahead,” Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland said.

“The Rapid is our next new model. It has a central importance for our growth and will provide us with a strong tailwind on international markets.”
