Externally, the GT SportNav+ gets a choice of three metallic paint finishes — Jet Black Mica, Ceramic Metallic or Soul Red Crystal — as standard, 18in alloys, plus unique matte silver trim for the front and rear bumpers, and bright silver door mirror covers. There’s also rear privacy glass, LED headlights and LED fog lamps. (Related: Mazda CX-30 compact crossover)

Inside the cabin there’s red Nappa leather upholstery — the driver’s seat also comes with power adjustment and a memory function — a retrimmed dashboard and soft-touch plastic. Oh, and the door cards are finished in white … good luck keeping them clean! (Related: Roadtest — All-new Mazda3)

Powered by Mazda’s naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G engine, producing 119bhp and 206Nm of torque, CX-3 GT SportNav+ feeds the power to the front-wheels via a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. In manual form, it’ll hit 62mph from standstill in 9.0secs and return 42.8mpg at the pumps.

“Over 75% of the CX-3s we sell in the UK are Sport Nav+ models,” Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK managing director, said “so our customers love the combination of premium quality and style the high-grade versions of this excellent small SUV deliver.

“The launch of the GT Sport Nav+ adds a standout special edition model, which brings the generous equipment, distinctive looks and enhanced value that discerning crossover buyers are looking for.

“With the suite of well-considered updates the CX-3 range received last year, the Mazda CX-3 has the style, quality and driving dynamics to remain at the top of this most demanding of segments.”
