New Jeep Cherokee unveiled 12 | 09 | 2018

JEEP’S LATEST CHEROKEE will go on-sale at Scottish dealerships next year. The facelifted model — which boasts an evolved design, larger boot and new technology — will be available with one engine choice and two trim levels.

Power comes from a 193bhp 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Not surprisingly, there’s also the option of all-wheel drive. (Related: 2018 Jeep Wrangler unveiled)

Externally, the faclifted model gains a sharper nose, plus a redesigned rear tailgate. Inside the cabin there’s a Uconnect 8.4-inch infotainment system which gives control of on board features, including climate and audio, plus smartphone connectivity.

The company has yet to confirm prices, but what is certain is the fact only the higher-spec Limited and Overland models will be sold in the UK. (Related: Jeep backs 'Thunder in the Glens')

Limited trim models feature 18in painted aluminum wheels, seven-inch colour TFT configurable instrument cluster, sat-nav, Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Stop and Go function, front parking sensors, hands-free power tailgate, Nappa leather-trimmed electrically adjustable and heated front seats, plus a carpet-covered cargo space.

The range-topping Overland adds 19in polished aluminium wheels, body-coloured painted fascias and CommandView dual-pane power sunroof. Inside there’s a leather wrapped dashboard, soft Nappa leather-trimmed and ventilated seating, a Zebrano wood-accented heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
