Lexus unwraps updated RC Coupe 31 | 08 | 2018

LEXUS HAS REVEALED its facelifted RC Coupe, ahead of the model’s first public appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October. The new model will go on-sale at Scottish dealerships towards the end of 2018. (Related: Lexus unveils 2019 ES)

Externally the changes are subtle, with a new mesh grille, a re-profiled front bumper, plus updated LED headlamps with a new lighting signature being the most noticeable. Buyers now also get the choice from 11 exterior paint finishes.

Inside, the cabin now benefits from brushed aluminium on the centre console and dash, while the transmission tunnel gets leather padding which is aimed at making the interior more comfortable for front occupants.

A new analogue clock, identical to the one in the LC, also sits high on the instrument panel in another identifying feature of Lexus coupes.

The range-topping RC F Sport now gets 19in alloys — inspired by those used by the LS and LC luxury flagship models —  as standard, plus a new range of unique interior colour combinations is available.

The updated model trains the previous engine line-up. That means a choice of the RC 200t —with a a tweaked 2.0-litre turbocharged engine for better throttle response — or the 300h, powered by a 2.5-litre hybrid electric powertrain.

New shock absorbers, which Lexus says willprovide significant damping force from low suspension stroke speeds, and stiffer suspension bushings have also been introduced.
