Seat Ibiza Cupster concept  21 | 05 | 2014

SEAT, WHICH IS celebrating 30 years of the Ibiza, will display its open-top Cupster concept in the metal for the first time at next week's VW Group's Worthersee fan festival.

Sharing Seat's corporate front-end design, the Cupster also incorporates an eye-catching short, heavily-raked windscreen which extends to include wraparound side windows. The nose of the car carries a prominent Cupra badge.

It's expect the car will be powered by the same 1.4-litre TSI engine as the current Ibiza Cupra hatchback, with output around the 178bhp of the standard car.

The car also gets a rear boot-mounted spoiler, and there are prominent buttresses behind the two front seats.

Other VW Group members have already confirmed the cars they will be displaying at Worthersee, with Skoda showing its open-top CitiJet concept and Audi unveiling its A3 Clubsport Quattro concept.

The only manufacturer yet to display its hand is Volkswagen itself, though it's understood the company will unveil its own concept at the festival.
