Euro stampede for new Mustang 28 | 05 | 2014

FORD MUSTANG FANCIERS flooded the car manufacturer's pre-registration process during the UEFA Champions League Final. More than 9300 people tried to reserve a new Ford Mustang when pre-registrations for the European version of the sports car opened during the final in Lisbon.

Ford, the main sponsor of the Champions League, invited prospective buyers to register online for a chance to reserve one of the first 500 new Mustangs destined for Europe.

Registrations for the new car closed when the match between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid ended after 120 minutes.

Such is the demand for the new Mustang, that the 500 figure had been surpassed within 30 seconds of the referee had blowing his whistle to start the match.

When it goes on sale next year, the new Ford Mustang will be the first ever to be made available across Europe.
