Green light for 500bhp Q50 Eau Rouge 11 | 03 | 2014

NISSAN HAS CONFIRMED it's to push ahead with its 500bhp GT-R powered Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge saloon.

While it hasn't committed yet to a production model going on-sale, it has given the green light to an official engineering feasibility project to explore whether the car could be made.

Named after the infamous corner on the Spa race circuit, the Q50 Eau Rouge was shown with a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 shoehorned under the bonnet at the Geneva Motor Show last week.

It's understood Inifiniti plan to build at least one prototype to explore the engineering realities of fitting an engine designed for a four-wheel drive, transaxle-equipped coupé into a four-door saloon with a conventionally sited transmission.
