New Audi TT on sale 08 | 08 | 2014

AUDI'S SCOTTISH DEALERSHIP network has started taking orders for the new Audi TT coupĂ©. Prices start at £29,770 for the 181bhp 2.0TDI Ultra Sport, with first deliveries expected in December.

The new TT is available in two trim levels, Sport and S line, and a choice of two engines, a 2.0-litre four cylinder TFSI with 227bhp, and the 2.0TDI Ultra, with 181bhp.

Unlike the previous generation, the diesel is only available in front-wheel drive form, which unfortunately means no quattro.

Audi though says it'll cover the 0-62mph sprint in 7.1secs, has a top speed of 150mph, and boasts lower CO2 emissions of 110g/km: plus, it'll return 67.3mpg at the pumps.

The 2.0TFSI petrol, meanwhile, is available with a choice of both front and quattro all-wheel-drive forms, and fitted with either a six-speed manual or six-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.

In front-wheel drive form, the new TT takes 6.0s to do the 0-62mph sprint, and carries on to a max of 155mph. It also emits 137g/km CO2 and returns 47.9mpg

Audi has dramatically enhanced the new TT's cabin in both the Sport and S line. Out goes the traditional separate infotainment screen to be replaced by a new all-digital dashboard.

There's also Audi's drive select system, keyless go, Alcantara leather trim, sports seats and manual aircon.

Step up to the S line and you also get larger 19in alloys – upgraded from the standard car 18in – LED lights, and stiffer sports suspension.

Not surprisingly, the new TT's option list contains a number of Audi connected services including social media integration and Google street view for the navigation system. As elsewhere across the Audi range, you can also specify a Bang & Olufsen stereo.

While the entry-level 2.0TDI Ultra Sport gets a six-speed manual gearbox, as does the cheapest 2.0TFSI petrol at £29,860. The current range tops-out at £35,335 for the 2.0TFSI quattro S line, which comes complete with a six-speed S tronic 'box.

Audi though has also confirmed a new 306bhp TTS, will be added to the range in October, with first deliveries not scheduled till March next year
