Peter Vardy expands in Fife 04 | 04 | 2014

SCOTLAND'S FASTEST-GROWING car dealership group, Peter Vardy, has opened a new Vauxhall dealership in Dalgety Bay.

The new showroom — formerly the long-established Steve Curtis Cars on Harbour Way — will house between 60 to 70 cars on the forecourt. It will also provide access to thousands of premium quality vehicles from the national Peter Vardy network.

“Dalgety Bay is a prime location for our business," chief executive Peter Vardy (pictured) said, "and we are delighted to have acquired what we believe will continue to be a very successful authorised Vauxhall dealership in Fife.”

The Dalgety Bay premises will benefit from a full revamp in the new Vauxhall corporate identity, with a stylish contemporary look in the sales and service areas.

"We are going to provide Dalgety Bay with a really friendly motor retail environment," Billy Fraser, of Peter Vardy, who takes over as branch manager, said. "It will be run with lots of energy and enthusiasm, giving our guests a world class buying experience."

The new dealership is the latest addition to the Peter Vardy stable, which includes showrooms in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Motherwell and Kirkcaldy, offering marques such as Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW and MINI.

Billy Fraser, currently sales manager at Perth, will oversee the existing team of 11, all of whom will retain their positions. In addition, the company will recruit another six members of staff.

Once established, he will also liaise with staff to identify a local charity partner. Peter Vardy nationally donates 10% of all its profits to charitable purposes and each dealership has an individual charity partner which it supports and promotes.

"As well as providing the best possible sales experience, we will also interact positively with the Dalgety Bay community by supporting charities in the local area," Fraser continued.

"Peter Vardy's aim is to be the world's best motor retailer and we achieve that by creating a positive relationship with our colleagues, our guests and the local community."

Steve Curtis, who has been selling cars in the area for 40 years, 16 of which specifically in Dalgety Bay, said: "I'm delighted the premises are going to continue to provide high-quality, good value service to the people of Fife.

"Peter Vardy has a solid reputation for creating strong links with the communities in which it operates and I am sure Billy Fraser and his team will create a very welcome facility in the town."
