TV campaign for 1.6 diesel CR-V 21 | 10 | 2013
HONDA'S NEW 1.6-LITRE diesel CR-V is being backed by a new national television advertising campaign, coinciding with its arrival in Scottish showrooms.
The significance of the 1.6-litre diesel in the SUV is important for Honda, in that it now ensures the SYV range has a powerplant capable of competing with other mainstream brands.
Previously, the only diesel option was the uncompetitive 2.2-litre unit. According to Honda, the new, smaller Swindon-built 118bhp diesel is capable of 62.8mpg.
The TV commercial — under the strap line, “An impossible, made possible” — was created by mcgarrybowen London, directed by Chris Palmer at Gorgeous, and is part of a fully integrated campaign.

“We are very proud of our latest campaign," Martin Moll, head of European marketing, Honda Motor Europe, said. "With the CR-V we have always set out to combine the best elements of a car and an SUV.
"For the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC, we have achieved a perfect balance between the efficiency of a car and the functionality and security of an SUV, whilst offering great driving performance.
"This advertising campaign is a celebration of the innovation of the Honda brand which can make the unexpected happen through the ingenuity of its engineering.”
The new 1.6 diesel CR-V — which starts at £22,800 for the entry-level S — is now available with a 0% PCP finance plan for £239 a month over three years, and five years free servicing.
