Nissan recalls 133,000 Micras  27 | 05 | 2013

NISSAN IS RECALLING 841,000 cars worldwide because of a problem with the steering wheel. The recall affects 133,000 Nissan Micras built at its Sunderland plant between 2002 and 2006.

The bolt used in the steering wheel of these cars may not have been properly tightened, and at worst the steering wheel may not function.

Nissan though has stressed there is no risk of a sudden failure.

Owners have been told to take their cars to Scottish Nissan dealers to ensure the steering wheel securing bolt is tightened sufficiently.

It's understood the work will be take less than 15 minutes.

The remainder of the global recall affects the Cube, produced in Japan between 2002-2006. The Cube is not on sale in the UK.

Earlier this month, Nissan recalled 500,000 vehicles globally over a defect in passenger airbags.
