McNish Audi in spin 22 | 06 | 2013

ALLAN McNISH'S AUDI suffered a scare during final warm-up this morning when team-mate Tom Kristensen was nudged into a spin by a slower Porsche.

The No2 Audi, which will start this afternoon's race from pole position, sat stationary for more than a minute before it again started to inch slowly forward.

The Dane, who had earlier set the fastest lap, nursed the car back to the pits where it immediately was eased backward into the garage to have its buckled left-rear wheel replaced.

Minutes later, McNish was back on-track and he then set a new fastest lap. The Scot's time was then superseded by the Toyota of Nicolas Lapierre.

The session though was red-flagged three minuts before its scheduled finish when LMP2 driver Tor Graves smashed into the barriers in the G-Drive/Delta-ADR Oreca-Nissan and came to rest in the middle of the circuit.

Peter Dumbreck's Aston Martin, which starts the GTE Pro class from second on the grid, completed five laps but didn't post a competitive time.
