Renault reveals Captur  11 | 01 | 2013

THIS IS THE first official image of Renault's new compact crossover SUV, the Captur, which will compete with the Vauxhall Mokka, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke.

According to Renault, the Captur will deliver the best of three worlds: expressive styling and driving position of an SUV; the cabin space and flexibility of an MPV; and the agility of a compact hatchback.
"Renault Captur is a compact, unaggressive crossover which is particularly user-friendly. It benefits from Renault genes through and through,” Benoît Bochard, director of Renault's A/B-segment product range, said.

In keeping with the current market approach, the Captur will be easy to customise. Notably, it comes with an original two-tone colour scheme which produces a contrast between the roof and pillars and the rest of the bodywork.

The standard Captur — which is based on the same platform as New Clio — will have an equipment specification including hands-free entry, hill start assist and rear parking sensors.

Also available will be the new, connected, in-dash Renault R-Link touchscreen multimedia tablet, plus a system that comprises six loudspeakers, Bluetooth connectivity, audio-streaming and Arkamys hi-fi sound.
The petrol and diesel engines — most carried over from the Clio — benefit from the very latest Renault technologies and will return best-in-class fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, starting from as low as 96g/km.

The car, which will be manufactured at Renault’s Valladolid plant in Spain, will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
