Lexus previews new F model 10 | 12 | 2013

LEXUS HAS TEASED an image of the new F model concept which will be officially unveiled at next month's Detroit Motor Show. According to the Japanese car maker, it's been "engineered from scratch".

And the Lexus statement went on to say the new car "promises to deliver performance synonymous with Lexus' heritage of F-designated performance vehicles."

Lexus is keeping rather vague about the newcomer, being quick to point out it's "not neccessarily" related to the RC coupé shown in Tokyo earlier this year.

Whispers behind the scenes though point to the fact the 'F' will, indeed, be an F-badged version of the car.

In Tokyo, the RC coupé was shown in two forms, with the RC300h hybrid, which mates an electric motor with a 2.5-litre engine, taking centre stage. The RC350, powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine, was also shown.
