Renault confirms new Clio prices 16 | 10 | 2012

RENAULT HAS CONFIRMED its new, fourth-generation Clio — which will go head-to-head with the Ford Fiesta when it's launched across Scotland next year — will start at £10,595 and rise to £16,095 (see more photos of the all-new Renault Clio).

The range will include a choice of three engines, including a new three-cylinder 900cc petrol, which Renault claims returns 99g/km and 62.8mpg in ECO guise.

That fuel figure is improved even further in the “heavily upgraded” 1.5-litre dCi unit which, according to Renault, now delivers the headline figures of 88.3mpg and 83g/km in ECO spec.

There's also a modified version of the current car’s 1.2-litre which has improved economy by 2.7mph and reduced emissions by a further 8g/km.

Renault, bidding to recapture a sizeable slice of the UK market, has significantly raised the equipment level of the new Clio.

Bluetooth and USB connectivity, front, front side and curtain airbags cruise control, ESC, hill start assist, height and reach adjustable steering wheel, electric front windows and door mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, plus speed limiter are all fitted as standard.

Renault believes the £13,245 Dynamique MediaNav model will be the UK's best-seller. The third of four trim levels, the Dynamique MediaNav features a seven-inch touchscreen navigation system, automatic lights and wipers, plus gloss black and chrome trims.

A panoramic glass roof, parking sensors and rear parking camera are all offered as options.
