Vauxhall Mokka starts at £16,995  11 | 06 | 2012

OK, IT'S NOT the best name ever for a car — it sounds like something you'd order in a coffee shop —but Vauxhall's new Mokka will enter Scottish showrooms in November. Prices will start at £16,995 and there will be three engines available from launch (see more official photos of the new Vauxhall Mokka).

Set to go head-to-head with the Nissan Juke and all-new Ford Ecosport, the Mokka is a five-seater which rides high above the ground.

Available in three specs — S, Exclusiv and SE — the engine range will include an entry-level 113bhp 1.6-litre petrol, a 138bhp turbocharged 1.4 petrol (fitted with 4x4 as standard), plus a 128bhp 1.7CDTi unit.

Vauxhall claims its front-wheel-drive, six-speed manual diesel will be the most frugal in the Mokka range, delivering 60.1mpg and 124g/km CO2.

Conversely, the most powerful car in the range, the 138bhp 1.4T, will achieve 44.8mpg and 149g/km CO2.

Standard equipment on S-spec models include aircon, 16in alloys, daytime running lights, hill start assist, digital radio and cruise control.

Step up to the Exclusiv spec, and you also get Bluetooth, parking sensors and 18in alloys. The range-topping SE includes heated leather seats, tinted glass, chrome-effect door handles and adaptive headlights.
