UK debut for Ferrari 458 Spider 15 | 06 | 2012

TWO FERRARI MODELS will make their UK debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month. Not content with having the Ferrari 458 Spider (see more official photos of the 458 Spider), the revised California will also make an appearance.

How significant is the 458 Spider? Well it's Maranello’s first mid-engined convertible with a folding metal roof. Not only that, but the electric hard top is 25kg lighter than the fabric hood seen on the F430 Spider. It can be fully deployed in 14secs.

Powered by a 562bhp 4.5-litre V8, the £200k Spider — which is fitted with a seven-speed twin clutch automated manual gearbox — is capable of hitting 62mph from standstill in 3.4sec, and will carry on to a max of 199mph.

The Ferrari California 30, meanwhile, gets a 30bhp increase in power over the previous model, up from 453bhp to 483bhp.

Ferrari has also modified the torque curve of the California 30, and as a result it's now capable of the 0-62mph sprint in 3.8sec, 0.1sec quicker than the previous version.

Of, and just for good measure, Ferrari will also display its £227k, four-seat FF model at Goodwood, which runes from June 29 to July 1.
