Arnold expands in Blackpool  06 | 12 | 2012

SCOTLAND'S LARGEST DEALERSHIP group, Arnold Clark, has further expanded his billion pound empire in England.

The car giant has purchased Blackpool’s Moorland Group for an undisclosed sum.

The latest deal means Arnold Clark now operates 19 Vauxhall dealerships across Scotland and England. The Moorland site will also continue to represent Chevrolet at the single site business but not Suzuki.

The family run Moorland business, based on Whitehills Business Park, was founded by Bill Swire in the 1990s. The existing Moorland team will transfer as part of the acquisition.

“We look forward to working with both staff and customers to continue to develop this well run local family business,” Eddie Hawthorne, Arnold Clark’s managing director said.

“As a family-run business, Arnold Clark shares the same ethos as the Swire family and will continue to offer genuine value for money and generating high levels of customer satisfaction."
