New 3.0 V6 confirmed for F-Type 23 | 04 | 2012

JAGUAR HAS CONFIRMED the new F-Type (pictured), designed by Scot Ian Callum and which will be unveiled in full production mode in Paris in September, will be powered by a 375bhp supercharged V6 engine.

The new powerplant was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show today alongside a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which will be used in the XJ and XF.

The 3.0 V6 though will be unique to the F-Type in 375bhp guise, though it will make its way into the XF and the XJ, though at a reduced output level of 335bhp.

The XJ-bound 2.0 turbocharged four-cylinder is a variation of the petrol unit found in the Range Rover Evoque. Delivering 238bhp, the new engine will replace the XF and XJ’s six-cylinder unit. Sales are expected to start in the summer.
