Citroen unveils its new C4 Aircross 30 | 09 | 2011

CITROEN HAS UNVEILED its new C4 Aircross, a compact SUV version of the Citroën C4. Available in two and four-wheel-drive versions, the latest addition to the ever-growing C4 range goes on sale in Scotland next autumn.

Taking some styling cues from the French manufacturer's Hypnos concept car first seen in 2008, particularly the design of the 18-inch wheels and rear lights, the Aircross promises to be something of a headturner.

At 4340mm long, 1800mm wide and 1630mm high, the five-seater features a panoramic glass sunroof which is illuminated by integrated LED lights at night. It's also got a healthy-sized bootspace of 442 litres.

Though Citroen UK has yet to confirm which versions will be offered for sale here, the range will include 2WD-only versions powered by a 1.6i, 114bhp petrol engine, plus 1.6, 110bhp and 1.8, 150bhp diesels.

Naturally, Citroen's strong diesel units are expected to be the big-sellers, and the 110Hdi and 150Hdi units will be mated to a manual six-speed gearbox. The petrol will get a five-speed ‘box.

Citroen will also offer the diesel 110Hdi as a two- or four-wheel-drive car.

The Citroën C4 Aircross is also well equipped, with GPS navigation with touch-screen, reversing camera and USB or Bluetooth connection for portable audio players.
