Di Resta unveils new carposted in F103 | 02 | 2012

BATHGATE'S PAUL DI RESTA unveiled his 2012 Sahara Force India Formula One car at a sub-zero Silverstone this morning. And the 25-year-old Scot believes the new car will help him improve on the 27 world championship points he scored last year.

"The guys in the factory have done a fantastic job," he explained this morning, as light snowflakes fluttered around the outside of garage 13 at Silverstone.

"We achieved our primary goal last season, which was to finish sixth in the constructors' championship. This year we want to go one better and finish fifth.

"The team has improved every year, and we're aiming to maintain that momentum throughout the 2012 season.

"We have a very young and aggressive driver line-up, with me and Nico (Hulkenberg), and we both want to achieve the best we can in Formula One.

"We both get on very well, but as in every F1 team, the first person you want to beat is your team-mate. I know I'll be trying to beat him, and Nico will obviously be trying to beat me.

"But we're working together to develop the car. We head to the first test in Jerez next week ready to start work on the car. We know what the guys in the factory have achieved: now we need to help develop it to the next level and ensure we're competitive for the first grand prix in Australia in a few week."
