Ferry savings for Mull Rally teamsposted in RSCOT09 | 08 | 2012

TUNNOCK'S MULL RALLY competitors will be able to make considerable ferry-cost savings as a result of a special package negotiated with Caledonian MacBrayne. The all-Tarmac event, which runs on closed-off public roads, takes place October 12-14.

Competitors travelling with a trailer under eight metres will save, on average, £100 on their return sailing costs.

Caledonian MacBrayne has put in place a £100 discount for competitors towing rally cars on the Oban to Craignure route. In addition, the company is also offering a £99 discount to those sailing Lochaline to Fishnish.

This discount is being applied by measuring only the van (towing vehicle) as commercial and giving the trailer the standard trailer price.

The discount will only be available to competitors over a 10-day period covering the rally.  Each competitor will be issued with a discount code, and that code can only be used once.

Caledonian MacBrayne is also still providing the Tunnock's Mull Rally with six free rescue units.

As part of the cost-saving package agreed with Caledonian MacBrayne, all competing cars will this year have a CalMac sticker on their car.

Entries for the 2012 Tunnock's Mull Rally open on Friday, August 10.
