Di Resta eyes big resultsposted in F128 | 08 | 2012

SCOTS FORMULA ONE ace Paul di Resta heads to Spa for this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix confident that his Sahara Force India team has the potential to deliver some 'big' results in the second half of the season.

Currently eighth in the Constructors' Championship, the 26-year-old Scot, believes SFI has the pace and momentum to overhaul the two teams immediately in front, Williams and Sauber.

"There's still a long way to go in the championship and we need to get back to scoring regular points," Di Resta said as he eyed the remainder of the year.

"Last year we ended the season strongly and we need to do the same this year. Williams are not too far ahead of us, but Sauber have a big points advantage and it's going to be a big task to overcome that.

"But we won't give up; we'll keep pushing and see what we can do. We definitely have the potential to get some big results before the end of the year."

Sahara Force India started the season confident it could build on the sixth place it sealed last season, but a win for Williams, allied to podiums for it and Sauber, mean Di Resta's team is trailing.

The position has been further compounded by the blistering pace and reliability shown by a rejuvenated Lotus, which currently lies a comfortable fifth.

"We were sixth in the constructors' championship last year and we had the objective this year of coming fifth," team principal Vijay Mallya explained.

"However, the improvement of Lotus has been exceptionally dramatic, so I think to target fifth is probably overreaching our capabilities for this year.

"We should at least target sixth, where we finished last year, and that means getting ahead of both Sauber and Williams."
