Rookie of the Yearposted in F106 | 11 | 2011

    FOUR WEEKS TODAY, on Sunday, December 4, Autosport magazine will host its glamorous annual awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London; and Paul has been shortlisted for the prestigious Rookie of the Year Award.

    A total of 10 of the world's leading young racing drivers have been put forward, but naturally we're giving you the chance to vote for Paul.

    All the voting is carried out via the Autosport website, but all you need to do to place your vote for Paul is to CLICK HERE.

    There's no denying Paul has excelled in his first year racing in Formula One with Sahara Force India. Having made the switch as DTM champ into F1, Paul immediately impressed by scoring on his racing debut in Australia.

    As the season progressed, Paul's mature approach to F1, allied to his continuing development both in qualifying and the race, saw him become a regular points scorer.

    There have been a number notable highs so far this season, including: running as high as fourth in Canada in the torrential rain; qualifying sixth at Silverstone for his first home grand prix, then delivering serious pace before the infamous botched pitstop ruined his race;

    At the Hungaroring Paul finished seventh, despite struggling through the final stint with his tyres, then delivered a sensational performance in Singapore.

    Paul's defining moment of the season — so far — saw him reach Q3 in Singapore, despite only having seven laps to learn the circuit in Friday's Free Practice. He the went on to finish sixth in the race, having started on the harder tyres with no high-fuel running.

    We think — and yes, of course, you know this is exactly what we would say — Paul is the most complete, polished and consistent rookie to emerge in global motorsport this year.

    You only get one opportunity to vote, so please don't waste it: vote for Paul.
