Sponsors back Fifer Shedden's BTCC bidposted in BTCC29 | 03 | 2011

FIFER GORDON SHEDDEN and his Honda team-mate Matt Neal are gearing up for this weekend's opening rounds of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch — which comes to Knockhill on September 4 — and the team has just confirmed new key sponsors.

Joining the team for the first time is CTEK, the leading global brand in the care and maintenance of vehicle batteries, and Dread, Honda Racing’s new official clothing supplier and leading provider of corporate, promotional and team clothing.
In addition, Honda Racing Team is also working with Bosch Engineering GmbH Motorsport — the global automotive supplier of technology and services — for the 2011 season.

The team will also receive the continued backing of Cambridge-based Marshall Motor Group, Honda UK’s largest dealer group, which backed the two Honda Civics last year.

Shedden and former champ Neal head into this weekend's triple-header confident after the recent pre-season test at Silverstone.

“The car was fast and reliable all day," Shedden, who finished the test eighth-fastest, said. "We showed some really good pace, but we’re still working on the set up of the car because the weight distribution is different with the new engine.

"But one of the big things from the test was we found some really promising directions about how we further develop the Civic. We’ve only just begun to tap into the potential of the car so I’m very optimistic.”
