Di Resta targets pointsposted in F127 | 07 | 2011

LESS THAN A week after battling through from 24th and last place to finish 13th, having being rammed into a spin by Renault's Nick Heidfeld on the first lap in Germany, Bathgate's Paul di Resta returns to Formula One action at the Hungaroring in Hungary.

And the 25-year-old Force India racer heads into the final race before Formula One's four-week summer break confident he can get back into the top 10 and score points.

"After the disappointment of Silverstone and the Nurburgring, both races where I was on course for good points before events outside of my control wrecked my race, I'm hoping things go a little more straightforward for me this weekend," Di Resta said.

“The Hungaroring is a short track, but it’s very demanding on the drivers physically and mentally. I suppose it’s like a street track in terms of the layout and the number of corners mean the aero performance of the car is very important there.

"In some ways it's a bit like Monaco; you don't really get the chance to relax. We also run maximum downforce at the Hungaroring because, after Monaco, it’s the slowest circuit on the calendar.

"All the corners seem to flow into each other and you need to find a good rhythm. I had my first experience of the track last year during free practice. It’s not easy to learn much from a handful of laps but I know the layout and main challenges of the track.

"Because of the tight nature of the lap, it’s never been a track where there has been much overtaking, so it will be another good test of the DRS.

"It’s the last race before the summer break so it would be good to come away with a strong result. It will be good to have a break to recharge my batteries for a few weeks.

"The atmosphere in the teams at this race is always good, helped hugely by being in Budapest — it's a great city — and generally the weather is excellent. The forecast for this weekend is sunny and warm.

"At the half way point of the season I’m feeling good about things. Each race makes things a little bit easier, especially for getting comfortable with all the procedures of Formula One.

"I’m enjoying my first year as a Formula One driver and I just hope the rest of the season continues in the same way.”
