Renault unveils limited Clio R.S.18 02 | 05 | 2018
RENAULT HAS CONFIRMED its limited edition Clio R.S.18 will cost from £24,295. Only 15 examples of the hot hatch will be made available to customers across the whole of the UK. (Related: Lucky Scot wins Renault Clio)
The limited edition model, which is based on the RS 220 Trophy, is distinguishable by a deep black colour scheme and liquid yellow flecks; the latter is a nod to this year’s Renault Formula 1 car. The yellow also appears on the car’s front blade and wheels, while the RS ogo and rear diffuser are all finished in black.
The RS branding continues in the cabin on both the steering wheel and doorsills, while Alcantara and leather are used on the seats.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre engine delivering 220bhp. Carried over from the Trophy model, it’s mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. According to Renault, the package ensures the Clio R.S. 18 will sprint from 0-62mph in 6.6 seconds and carry on to a top speed of 146mph.
And while the limited edition model uses larger brake discs carried over from the standard Clio RS, Renault has upped the raking performance by 5%. Other standard spec includes Hydraulic Compression Control and ‘rally-bred’ damper technology, plus launch Control. There’s also an Akrapovic sports exhaust system.
Available to order only from Scotland’s Renault Sport Specialist dealerships, first deliveries of the R.S. 18 are scheduled for mid-June.
