Kia reveals Stonic crossover 12 | 06 | 2017

KIA’S NEW RIO-BASED B-Segment SUV will be called Stonic. The new model, which will rival the hugely successful Nissan Juke crossover, will debut later this year.

Revealed here in a series of bold design sketches, the Stonic has clearly been inspired by the larger Sportage and Sorento SUVs, boasting the family-based tiger-nose grille and sleek headlights.

Interestingly, the Stonic boasts a new LED lighting signature, and features a sportier, more urban-focused design due to its protruding front spoiler, flared wheelarches and rear scuff plates.

The sketches also illustrate the Stonic features a raised ride height and black roof bars.

The cabin is sleek and minimalist, focused around a central touchscreen with just two physical buttons. Close inspection highlights the fact the designers have separated the air-con controls, and they sit below the display.

There are also a number of piano-style buttons which are likely to control things like fan direction and heated seats.
