Lotus Evora GT430 22 | 07 | 2017

LOTUS HAS LIFTED the wraps from its most powerful road-going production car ever, the Evora GT430. Only 60 will be built, with each carrying an eye-watering price tag of £112,500 when it goes on-sale at Scottish dealers. That’s more than the recently facelifted 493bhp Porsche 911 GT3. The Lotus — which, at at 1258kg, is the lightest Evora yet, being 26kg less than the Evora Sport 410 — is powered by the same 3.5-litre supercharged V6 as before, but output has been increased to 430bhp. The new model also benefits from new aerodynamic bodywork which enables up to 250kg of downforce.

There’s also a racier look, thanks to new carbonfibre bodypanels. While there are new louvres — one above each of the front wheel arches — there’s also a new carbon-fibre splitter and larger air apertures on the front apron.

At the back of the car, designers have added new aerodynamic ducts behind each wheel to reduce air pressure in the rear wheel arches. There’s also a new, larger wing.

The new Evora GT430 — which will do 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and continue to a top speed of 190mph —  sits on 19in tyres at the front, with 20in fitted at the rear.
