The Forth Charity Volunteer of the Year Award with Peter Vardy is designed to recognise an individual, or groups, in the local area who have dedicated themselves to volunteering for a specific charity and have made a positive contribution to an individual, group or the wider community.

Listeners across Edinburgh, the Lothian’s and Fife are being invited to nominate someone who has tirelessly given up their time for a local organisation and made a significant impact to the charity they volunteer for. (Related: New £5m Porsche centre for Scotland)

The nominees for the Charity Volunteer of the Year Award will be invited to the annual Awards ceremony at the Usher Hall in November, where they and a partner will be guests of honour in a front row table at the Awards ceremony, enjoying drinks, a three-course meal and exclusive access to the after-show party.

The winner will be invited up on stage to receive their award and will be invited to take part in additional PR and promotional activity on the day.

In addition, simply for nominating someone, listeners are also in with a chance of winning a VIP experience at the Awards 2017.

The Forth Awards bring together a mix of music, comedy and community awards as voted for by the listeners to Forth 1, 2 and 3. Organisers will pick a winner by random from all nominations.

“We are delighted to be involved with the Forth Volunteer of the Year Award,” Peter Vardy, group chief executive, said. “The Award category we are sponsoring has been designed to best promote the values of our company, and ties back to our core business values of giving back to the community.

“Our Peter Vardy Foundation has been committed, for more than 10 years now, to supporting local initiatives which recognise the benefits society derives from the efforts of community volunteers.”

In addition, Peter Vardy will partner with The Forth Awards £1000 Thursday give-away to give attendees the opportunity to win the use of a BMW 7 Series, as well as one night’s stay with dinner and breakfast in a five-star Scottish hotel.

The company will also supply vehicles to support the event, providing drivers and transport for celebrities attending the event.

Peter Vardy Group operates six Vauxhall dealerships in Aberdeen, Perth, Kirkcaldy, Edinburgh, Motherwell and Dalgety Bay (Fife).

In addition, it operates five prestige dealerships selling Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, BMW and Mini vehicles. It also has two of Scotland’s largest indoor used car showrooms, CarStore at Glasgow and Dundee.
