Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse GT3 29 | 04 | 2016

BLACK BULL ECURIE ECOSSE arrives at Rockingham this weekend, for the second round of the British GT Championship, determined to maximise the pace it demonstrated in the season-opener at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago. And the team, which won at Rockingham 12 months ago, has been further boosted by the Monza success of Rob Bell.

The McLaren works driver, who partners Edinburgh’s Alasdair McCaig in the Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse McLaren 650S GT3, powered to victory in the opening round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at the iconic Italian F1 grand prix circuit last weekend.

Partnered by Aussie V8 Supercars ace Shane Van Gisbergen and Frenchman Come Ledogar, Bell again demonstrated the searing pace he showed at Brands Hatch.

And Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse director McCaig is confident the team’s McLaren 650S GT3 (pictured) will be challenging for a top three finish at Rockingham.

“We obviously want to improve on Brands Hatch,” he explained. “Our pace was right up there with the leading cars, but due to outside circumstances — including other cars crashing and the full course yellow — we didn’t deliver the result the car was capable of.

“This weekend our aim is to finish on the podium, and preferably the top step.

“Rockingham’s a unique test of a car and driver, with its combination of tight, twisty infield and the extremely fast oval section.

“We tested there recently, and the car performed brilliantly, so we’re looking forward to the weekend and delivering a top-three finish.”
