Nissan confirms Juke-R production 07 | 05 | 2012

NISSAN HAS CONFIRMED its ultra-fast 545bhp Juke-R will go into a "very limited" production run. Already two orders for the car — which can hit 160mph — have been received from a mysterious “high-profile and well-respected member of Dubai society”. Well, that's how Nissan described the buyer!

One other order has also been placed for the ca, which is powered by twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6.

The Juke-R concept used running gear from a 2010-spec Nissan GT-R. For production, it has been upgraded to use the latest all-wheel drive 2012 GT-R running gear.

If you fancy one, you'd better get your order in quick: and have deep pockets. Nissan will close the order book in four weeks, and though no price has been officially released, it's expected the Juke-R will set you back six-figures.

The design and build of the original concept was undertaken by British engineering firm Ray Mallock Limited (RML), and naturally will be involved in the production version.

Nissan’s Cranfield technical centre and its Paddington design studio will continue to supply support.
