New-look BMW X1 starts at £24,660 07 | 05 | 2012

BMW DEALERSHIPS ACROSS Scotland will open their order books for the revised line-up of the X1 in July. The new range — which starts at £24,660 for the entry-level sDrive18d SE — will be topped by a 215bhp 2.0 four-cylinder turbodiesel X1 xDrive25d.

Replacing the current the xDrive23d, the newcomer will cover the 0-62mph sprint in 6.8secs, and deliver 51.4mpg and 145g/km of CO2.

The updated range will also include the 141bhp 2.0 turbodiesel for the X1 sDrive18d and X1 xDrive18d. There will also be an uprated 181bhp 2.0 for the X1 sDrive20d and X1 xDrive20d.

A lower-powered version of that engine, delivering 161bhp, will be fitted in the X1 sDrive20d Efficient Dynamics. It's eye-catching figures are 62.8mpg and 119g/km.

Externally the revised model gets subtle styling tweaks at the back and front. But the main improvements are inside where new, higher-quality materials have been used. There's also a new centre console.
