Ferrari recalls 458s/Californias 10 | 05 | 2012

IF YOU'RE ONE OF the lucky few people in the UK with a Ferrari California (pictured) tucked away in your garage, or a 458, then expect to receive a letter through your door from the Italian manufacturer.

Ferrari is recalling a small batch of 458s and Californias worldwide: in the UK only 10 Californias and six 458s are affected.

A total of 206 cars — in total of 13,000 built — have been affected by the problem which is caused by an incorrect finish to the crankshafts. The problem causes unwanted vibrations which can damage the engine if it is not changed.

“We are writing to all clients affected now, asking them to return the car to a dealer for the work to be done,” a Ferrari spokesman said.

I've got to be honest, wouldn't it be nice to be in the position where you're waiting for the letter to come through your letter box?
