Audi's flagship TT to cost £48,945 03 | 05 | 2012

TIME TO TAKE A deep breath: Audi's new flagship TT, the RS plus, will cost from £48,945 when it enters showrooms across Scotland. The good news though is the car will be available in right-hand drive.

Boasting a 20bhp power boost over the standard RS model, which takes it up to 355bhp, the TT RS plus is certainly racy.

With the optional seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, it'll cover the 0-62mph sprint in 4.1sec (down from 4.3sec) for the coupé and 4.2sec (from 4.4sec) for the roadster.

If you stick with the standard six-speed manual, both body variants are 0.1s slower to 62mph. Both models though have seen their maximum speeds increased from 155mph to 174mph.

Fuel economy? Well that's been improved too, but in real terms you'll barely notice it: the figure's now 33.2mpg and 32.8mpg respectively for the coupé and roadster.

The exterior of the TT RS plus gets 19in titanium-look alloys (up from 18in wheels), a matte aluminium surround and polished mesh grille, carbonfibre wing mirror housings and black oval tailpipe trims, over and above that which is on the standard RS model.

Oh, and not only is a sports exhaust system also fitted as standard, but the TT RS plus logo features on the car’s gear knob. Money well spent, I'd suggest!
