Seat cuts prices on new Ibiza 14 | 03 | 2012

SCOTTISH SEAT DEALERS are preparing themselves for high demand for the new Ibiza range after the Spanish manufacturer slashed its prices.

The new range, which enters Scottish showrooms next month but which is available to order now, sees prices reduced by an average of £300 off the majority of models.

The UK range extends up from the E through S A/C and SE to the sporty FR model: the entry-level new Ibiza – the 1.2-litre 58bhp E in three-door SC bodystyle – remains available at £9995.

The core basic model in the new line up – the Ibiza S A/C – is offered at an average of £300 less than the outgoing S Copa editions.

The most affordable Ibiza 5dr is the 1.2 68bhp PS S /C model, at £11,430. This engine is also now available in the Ibiza ST body style, giving it a reduced starting price of £12,140.

On the mid-level Ibiza SE, there’s a similar £300 average price reduction versus the outgoing SE Copa.

All Ibiza body-styles have the same four derivatives on offer.

The 1.4 83bhp petrol model is joined by the 1.2 TSI 103bhp, with seven-speed DSG. Two diesels are offered in this spec; the 92 g/km 1.2 TDI 73bhp Ecomotive and the 1.6 TDI 103bhp. The latter is available in SE trim for the first time.

Prices have also been reduced by up to £1,100 on FR derivatives – the 1.4-litre TSI 148bhp DSG-auto and 2.0-litre TDI 141bhp turbodiesel have both had priced reduced.

As on the outgoing model, the ‘walk’ from any Ibiza SC model to the equivalent 5dr model is £500. To move from 5dr to ST is another £710 in every case.

The new cars are available to order now, with a nationwide showroom launch planned for late April.
