MG6 gets cleaner and more frugal 12 | 04 | 2012

MG HAS INTRODUCED a range of improvements to both the MG6 GT hatchback and MG6 Magnette saloon, resulting in better fuel consumption and lower CO2 figures.

Powered by the same 158bhp 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine, the combined fuel figure is now 37.7mpg, and CO2 has dropped by 10g/km to 174g/km.

The important fact about the CO2 figures is the car now sits in a lower Vehicle Excise Duty band, meaning customers will have to pay £20 less tax annually from year two onwards.

There's also a 40 quid drop in the car's on-the-price: in entry-level S trim, the MG6 GT now costs £15,455. The range-topping MG6 Magnette TSE will set you back £19,955.

And in an effort to further generate sales interest, MG is also offering 0% finance on the GT S, with a deposit of no more than 40%, or £6182. Stretch to a 50% deposit, and you pay 60 monthly instalments of £128.79.
