Aston Martin DBS goes all carbon 12 | 09 | 2011

JUST HOURS BEFORE the Frankfurt Motor Show finally opens its doors tomorrow, Aston Martin has lifted the wraps from two striking new Carbon Edition DBS sports cars which will make their debut in Germany.

The 2011 DBS Carbon Edition will be available in two new colours — Flame Orange and Ceramic Grey — together with the existing Carbon Black which was launched in 2009.

The DBS Carbon Edition features 10-spoke gloss black diamond turned wheels with a reversed diamond turned or full gloss black finish as an option.

Complementing the wheels, black brake callipers will be delivered as standard with yellow, orange, red or grey as an option.  The outside also gets a black grille, carbon fibre mirror heads, carbon rear lamp in-fills and smoked rear lights.

Inside the cosseting cabin there are the familiar swathes of obsidian black or maranello orange semi-aniline leather. The interior of a DBS Carbon Edition will take in excess of 70 man hours to hand stitch and finish.

And just for good measure, the magnesium alloy paddles which control the Touchtronic II automatic gearbox are tipped with carbon fibre, bringing the Carbon Edition direct to the driver's fingertips.

What's the final touch of opulence fitted as standard to the DBS Carbon Edition, which starts at £186,582? How about the fact the all-new beam blade windscreen wipers, which deliver reduced wind noise and a cleaner wipe, even at high speeds!

Now if that isn't the reason to dash out and splash the cash, what is?
