New cleaner engines for Panda 22 | 07 | 2011

FIAT LOVERS ACROSS Scotland can now buy the Panda city-car with a new range of Euro 5-compliant engines. Fiat’s new 69bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine — which gives the car a 0-60mph time of 13.4sec and a max of 101mph — replaces the Panda’s previous entry-level 1.1-litre. It's available on Active, My Life, and Dynamic variants.

And while the petrol model is good for 57.6mpg and 113g/km CO2, the new 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit, fitted to Dynamic models, returns 67.3mpg, with a CO2 figure of 109g/km. It'll hit 60mph from standstill in 13.1secs and hit 103mph.

Entry-level Active models get electric front windows and body-coloured bumpers as standard, with My Life models adding alloys and 12V power socket. Dynamic models top the range with roof bars, air conditioning, pearlescent paint, MP3 player and fog lights.

“The addition of the Euro 5 engine to the line-up makes the Panda an even more tempting choice for drivers looking to save on fuel costs and keep CO2 figures as low as possible,” Fiat marketing director Elena Bernardelli said

The new Fiat Panda 1.2-litre Active starts from £8455, with the diesel priced from £12,285.
