Toyota Aygo X starts at £14,795 19 | 11 | 2021

    TOYOTA HAS CONFIRMED the pricing of its all-new Aygo X; the replacement for the Aygo city car sees the newcomer morph into a baby crossover. Available to order from December, prices start at £14,795. (Related: Toyota Aygo X gets new rugged look)

    Available in three trim levels, plus a Limited Edition model, all are power by a 71bhp three-cylinder petrol engine, with a five-speed manual as standard, or a CVT automatic transmission for a additional £1100.     The entry-level Pure, which starts at £14,795, includes a multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Air conditioning, power front windows, a leather steering wheel, automatic headlights and 17in alloys are also standard. (Related: Toyota's first all-electric SUV, the bZ4x)


    So too is the Toyota Safety Sense, which features a Pre-Collision System with added range and functionality to detect more potential accident risks, including pedestrians, cyclists (in daytime driving) and hazards when making a turn at a junction. It also provides full-range Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist, Lane Trace Assist and Automatic High Beam. Smartphone integration is made simple using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.


    Next up is the Edge. Starting at £16,495, this adds rear privacy glass, front fog lights, climate control, auto wipers and a larger eight-inch touchscreen. And in addition to 18in alloys, there’s also added exterior styling details including a two-tone paint finish with a contrasting black roof and rear-end.     This trim also offers the buyers a range of options, including a panoramic, electrically-opening canvas roof and front and rear parking sensors with an automatic braking function.


    Priced from £17,715, the Exclusive is the flagship of the range. Inside the cabin there’s a combination of cloth and ‘high-quality’ synthetic leather upholstery, plus a wireless phone charger. It also adopts the new Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system with nine-inch High Definition display. This gives access to cloud-based navigation, up-to-the-moment road event information, access to useful connected services and over-the-air updates for no-fuss software updates and fixes.     And while LED headlights, smart entry and start, plus the intelligent clearance sonars with auto brake are also included as standard, options for the Aygo X Exclusive are the canvas roof and a five-speaker JBL sound system with 300W amplifier.


    Coinciding with the launch of the Aygo X, there’s also a Limited Edition model. Priced from £19,640, and only available for the first six-months of sales, the Limited Edition gets matt black alloys 18in alloys, bright Mandarina orange highlights on the wheels, sills and front and rear bumpers, special interior design features and the retracting canvas roof. The front seats are heated and have part-leather upholstery. The bi-tone finish will feature Aygo X’s new Cardamom Green metallic paint.


    Cardamom Green is part of a fresh new palette of “spice” colours that express Aygo X’s lively character; other choices include Ginger Beige and Juniper Blue metallics and Chilli Red pearlescent.

    The Aygo X can be pre-ordered with a refundable £99 payment, though the Limited Edition model is exclusively online-only. First deliveries are scheduled to begin in the Spring.
