Ferrari launches new 710bhp F8 Tributo 28 | 02 | 2019

FERRARI WILL DEBUT its new F8 Tributo at next week’s Geneva Motor Show. Powered by the same 710bhp, 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine from the 488 Pista, the F8 Tributo replaces the 488 GTB in the Italian supercar range. (Related: Unique Scotland Blue Ferrari 812)

With its combination of less weight, more technology, redesigned aerodynamics, fresh styling and more power, the newcomer’s power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. (Related: Ferrari unveils 488 Pista Spider)

There are a number of styling improvements, with slimmer LED headlights, new twin-pod tail-lights, larger brake-cooling intakes, and a larger “S-Duct” bonnet scoop all featuring. There’s also a redesigned rear wing and a louvred Lexan engine cover inspired by the Ferrari F40.

According to Ferrari, the styling updates improve the aerodynamics and heat management over that of the outgoing 488 GTB. While the louvred clamshell helps extract excess heat from the engine bay, the re-worked “S-Duct” provides a 15% increase in downforce.

Technology enhancements include Ferrari’s latest “Side Slip Angle Control” system and a revised version of the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE+); the latter is activated by selecting the “RACE” drive mode. Ferrari claims the new software makes the F8 Tributo’s performance more accessible to a wider range of drivers.

Inside the cabin, there’s a redesigned dashboard — including a new seven-inch wide letterbox-style touchscreen display mounted in front of the passenger seat — plus a retrimmed transmission tunnel, new door cards and a smaller diameter steering wheel.

Ferrari will release full pricing and spec details of the F8 Tributo after the car makes its debut at the Swiss show next week.
