Tam and Isa to open Scots Motorpoint 10 | 08 | 2018
THE LATEST MOTORPOINT centre in Scotland will be opened this weekend in Glasgow by two ‘weel kent’ faces, Tam and Isa, stars of the BBC’s comedy series Still Game. (Related: Eastern Western buys Barnetts)
The UK’s largest independent car retailer has transformed its showroom at its five acre branch, on Hamilton Road in Mount Vernon, into a unique experiential space. The facility enables car buyers to choose, buy and drive away a low mileage nearly new car from 30 different manufacturers on the same day.
Tomorrow (Sat, Aug 1), actors Mark Cox (Tam) and Jane McCarry (Isa) will take time out from filming the new series to officially open the doors from 12pm onwards. The couple will also compere its ‘Get Packing’ game onsite between 1pm and 4pm for the chance to win holiday vouchers worth £2500.
“We are absolutely delighted that Tam and Isa have agreed to open our new showroom,” Adam Gilmore, general manager of Motorpoint Glasgow, said.
“We are all huge fans of the show, and given the huge savings on offer off list price at Motorpoint on over 500 low mileage, nearly new cars from 30 different manufacturers, we’re looking forward to seeing if we can convince Tam to get his wallet out and part with some of his cash on Saturday.”
Motorpoint established its branch in Glasgow over 15 years ago. Since then Motorpoint has sold a low mileage nearly new car to every postal code area in Scotland. Located on Hamilton Road in Mount Vernon, all cars come with less than 25,000 miles and the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty.
