Merc confirms X-Class V6 pick-up price 06 | 08 | 2018

    MERCEDES HAS CONFIRMED prices and spec details of its new V6-powered X 350d pick-up. Available to order now from Scottish dealerships, the new model is priced from £38,350 (excluding VAT); including VAT it’ll set you back £46,020. First deliveries are scheduled for November.     So, what do you get for the extra £7,840 you’ll need to spend over the previous range-topping X-Class, the X 250d?

    Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 producing 254bhp and 550Nm of torque, the X 350d comes with a seven-speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The combo results in the new model hitting 62mph from standstill in 7.9 seconds.

    Fitted with Mercedes’ Dynamic Select drive mode switch,— which allows owners to owners to flick between Comfort, Eco, Sport, Manual and Offroad — the X 350d  also gets a low-range reduction gear with three additional drive modes. 4MAT is for on-road driving, while the 4H and 4L setups improve traction in tricky situations.     With its fixed 40:60 front/rear power distribution, Mercedes says the X 350d has “improved vehicle dynamics and higher lateral acceleration on the road”, plus “better traction during acceleration”.

    Available in one trim level, Power — which sits above the Pure and Progressive equipment lines found in the smaller four cylinder diesels — the X 350d gets electric driver and passenger seats trimmed in artificial leather, cruise control, keyless go, chrome trim for the side strips and bumpers (with an integrated step at the back), plus LED head and tail lights.
